The Briggs & Stratton PHI-3.8-24-M is a 24V lithium ferro phosphate (LFP) battery with a nominal 3.87 kWh capacity at 100% depth of discharge (DOD). Unlike lead-acid batteries, lithium ferrous phosphate (LFP) batteries require no maintenance throughout their life span and are made from 100% recyclable materials, which are all non-toxic and non-hazardous. The PHI-3.8-M battery is also available in 48V.
PHI batteries are engineered and manufactured in California, US. They weigh 86 lbs (39.0 kg), are designed to be wall-mounted, and require no ventilation or cooling systems. They feature an accessible 80A DC breaker to turn the battery off and provide overcurrent protection (OCPD). They are certified to UL 9540 and UL 9540A Fire Safety. PHI batteries come with a 10-year limited warranty that includes repair or replacement of LFP batteries if found to have a manufacturing defect (see warranty document for details).
The PHI-3.8-48-M battery has an integrated high-performance Battery Management System (BMS), making it ideal for direct placement in off-grid systems with lead-acid or AGM batteries. It is compatible with most industry-standard inverters and charge controllers such as Magnum Energy, Midnite Solar, Morningstar, Outback Power, Samlex, Schneider, Sol-Ark, and Victron Energy. To confirm compatibility, please check PHI Batteries’ Integration Guide. Always use this formula to adhere to a 2:1 battery bank-to-inverter output ratio.
battery quantity = (inverter kWAC rating) ÷ (inverter efficiency) ÷ (battery max continuous discharge rate in kWDC)
